Jun 29, 2021 · Sonic's ring system makes the difficulty in the games pretty trivial (until the final boss battles in 1 & 2) and is also novel way to have players learn the stages and keep going without making them replay the same sections over and over. At some point in development, Labyrinth Zone was actually the second stage lol.

Apr 23, 2021 · The SNES sound chip is a rompler. You can reasonably reproduce the SNES sound using a low-fidelity SoundFont and echo turned up to 11. To achieve the Mega Drive sound you would really need emulation. Both have their strengths. I prefer the SNES sound and think the SPC700 is a better solution for a games console due to its versatility.

Oct 8, 2023 · Snes vs mega drive is closer, but I am a big fan of Shining Force. And since snes includes games with an extra chip, I include sega cd. Then the rpg library is not so weak anymore. So Mega Drive wins. At the time Master System lost everywhere except Brazil. Nowadays some people rediscovered Phantasy Star and Wonder Boy.

In the GTU shader, you will set the horizontal resolution to that of your monitor and the vertical one to the native vertical resolution of the game itself (in this example, Va-11 HaLL-a is 360p and Curse of the Moon is 240p). I'm also rendering these shaders in 4k, which provides the best results.

With a decompilation, you can recreate the original ROM easily, which is why the Mario 64 decompilation can be used to create a Mario 64 N64 ROM.
