The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, which opened in 2014, is a museum and human rights organization in Atlanta that inspires people to tap their own power to change the world around them.

Human rights – the right to think and speak freely, to vote, to receive a basic education, and to be free from torture or enslavement, among others – are innate: people are born with these rights, and always have them, just because they are human.

The Center features exhibitions that tell the story of the U.S. Civil Rights Movement and connects its legacy to ongoing human rights struggles around the world.

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights is a 42,000 square foot campus located in Pemberton Place in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Designed by distinguished architect, Phil Freelon, the building’s curvatures mimic two hands coming together.

Your general admission ticket includes entry to The National Center for Civil and Human Rights and all active exhibits. Children ages 6 and under are admitted to The Center for free. Last entry to the museum is one hour before close daily. We encourage you to purchase your tickets online in advance. Prices are slightly higher at the ticket window.

Our Power to Inspire fundraiser is the single largest gathering of The Center’s community each year. At this event, we celebrate those who have made a significant impact to protect the rights of others.
