The Wensum Way is a Norfolk trail 12 miles long, but you can access part of it on this hour long walk around part of the Sparham Pools nature reserve. Access to the reserve’s free car park is off Lyng Road, just by Pockthorpe, a tiny hamlet on the edge of Lyng close the River Wensum.

Jan 25, 2021 · Once former gravel pits, Sparham Pools is now a nature reserve, part of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. It is a circular walk off of Lyng Road. There is a car park for drivers, however, it is quite small.

Continuing our mission to visit every NWT site this year, this week we went to Sparham Pools, former gravel pits near Lyng. the bridge Although there is a small car park at the site, we decided to leave the car near the popular Fox public house and walk the last quarter-mile to the lakes.
