Apr 20, 2023 · Ive read his comments about this song and I get it. But what he doesnt get is how this affected short people when it came out. I was in HS and one of the shortest kids in school, already the target of teasing. This just made it worse.

The one that says "don't want no short people around here" represents the ignorant part of society that discredits short men (and women too). The other perspective is the one that Newman tries to represent, where short people are mainly just people, i guess. As he sings: "Short people are just the same As you and I (A fool such as I)
