Oct 8, 2020 · The stylized design of Mulan’s horse was probably based in part off of the Gansu Flying Horse. It’s a super famous bronze sculpture in China of a Ferghana horse from the Han dynasty, which is the time period where Mulan is supposed to take place.

Aug 24, 2022 · The care they put into Horse’s design and animation - how far they leaned into realism with that horse character - was what drew me into the show in the first place. The previews looked too “weird” for me, and throughout the first episode the Centaurworld characters WERE a little too weird for me, but I continued watching on the strength ...

Sep 21, 2022 · While I watched the third video of the trilogy, I began to think if the horses in Mulan would count as deaths. Going to the Disney fandom website I began to read and I found out that Khan, Mulan's horse, could be considered as a sentient animal, because he expresses himself and communicates through body language and "horse noises". Third scenario: Mulan beats Merida senseless. 10/10. Mulan has advanced combat/martial arts training, a strength advantage, and a much longer reach (age difference).

Khan's not that random; while not Maximus-level memorable (outside his infamy due to Mushu calling him "a cow" and leading to one of the most meme-able moments), Khan is probably Mulan's most important companion during her war era, sort of more on the equivalent of Samson from Sleeping Beauty in not being too special but still crucial.
