Mar 23, 2008 · The G11 Project is dead. Nothing more has been done with it. HK still has the rifles that were made, and the prototypes. Also they still have some of the ammo. There is a video on Youtube where the G11 was recently demonstraited for a Japanese video and even HKPRO said it is a rare event when HK breaks out the G11 to fire.

The HK folks scrutinized the plans and manufacture of the prop gun and it was relinquished to them after filming was complete. I don't know what happened to the prop gun.

For the German Bundeswehr, still fielding the G3, the comparison should be obvious. For American purposes the M16 was included for comparison, since the G11 was HK's entry into the Advanced Combat Rifle program in the early 1990s.
