The wood plaster details are sights to behold and the gorgeous fan vaulting above the altar is a unique display of fine stained glass. The windows, the doors, the ceiling spans and columns are as they were more than a century and one-half ago.

Fast forward to today, and you'll find Saint Patrick's holding the title of a National Historic Landmark. It's famous not only for its rich history but also for its opulent interior, boasting lofty vaulted ceilings, majestic paintings, and exquisite stained-glass windows.

The interior is rich in art treasures including paintings, murals, and the finest stained glass. The ceiling is reminiscent of Exeter Cathedral. The bell tower stands 185 feet in height with the naive height of 85 feet.

St. Patrick's Stained Glass Irish immigration in the early nineteenth century brought English-speaking Catholics to New Orleans, a city dominated by Creoles, descendants of the French and Spanish settlers of the previous century.
