Sep 19, 2014 · Regards the Kentucky gunsmiths, my suspicion is that most of them were making "Poor Boy" or "Southern Mountain" types of rifles rather than the more elaborate Pennsylvania style. There appears to be quite a bit of support for that opinion as early Kentucky lacked the wealth of Pennsylvania.
