The wreck of Audacious was filmed for the television show Deep Wreck Mysteries on the History Channel in 2008. The programme featured an investigation of the wreck and the circumstances of its loss by nautical archaeologist Innes McCartney and naval historian Bill Jurens.

Her crew were evacuated on to "HMS Liverpool" and the White Star liner "SS Olympic". She eventually sank at 21.00. No lives were lost. Commander was Captain Dampier.
