Jan 24, 2024 · Sony locked down for this generation. Third party controllers for PS5 are licensed with support from Sony or are modded original DualSense controllers. PS4 controllers and those that masquerade as PS4 work for PS4 games but there are no unlicensed controllers that work with PS5 games.
