MP banned from WECA headquarters after rape arrest - MSNAn MP has been banned from entering the West of England Combined Authority's (Weca) headquarters after he was arrested on suspicion of rape and child sex offences.
WECA was put into special measures in March, and is being monitored by the government. It follows a report by auditors, who warned of a "sense of division", with "delay and misunderstanding".
Weca director of law and governance Stephen Gerrard said: "The mayor and members of the combined authority represented by the council leaders must commit to improving their working relationships.
Weca's most recent administration, led by Dan Norris, was controversial at times, with leaders of councils sometimes refusing to take part in meetings amid accusations of a "toxic culture".
