If you’ve ever looked up at the stars and felt a twinge of cosmic wonder, now is your time to lean in. The Perseids meteor shower is lighting up the night sky and Kenton Dyck from the Astro Club says it’s one of the most spectacular astronomical events of the year.

As many as 100 "shooting stars" per hour can be visible, but a bright moon on the peak of the Perseids on Aug. 12 and 13 means evasive action is required.

The Perseids, alpha Capricornids and Southern delta Aquariids are all currently active, with the latter two peaking in late July.

Perseids Meteor Shower could soon be seen around August 2025 with an estimated 50-75 meteors per hour under ideal conditions as per Jagran Josh.
