A family from Southwest Oklahoma is asking for support after two of it’s members were caught in a flash flood in West Virginia. According Sheriff Nelson Croft of Ohio County, Jeremy Shotton and his newlywed wife of two weeks Kyleigh Minch Shotton were together with their kids when the waters began to rise.

Significant flooding in northern West Virginia claimed the lives of at least six people, including a 3-year-old and her mother, over the weekend and two others remain missing, officials say.

FEMA can only come in after a presidential disaster declaration, and local officials are urging people to fill out the damage report online or in person to help get federal aid.

A state of emergency was declared for Ohio County on Sunday following severe flooding in the area that has so far claimed the lives of three people.
