J ames Comey has warned of a "grave danger" in maintaining trust in federal prosecuting after the Department of Justice (DOJ) fired his daughter, Maurene Comey, from her job as prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY).

The federal investigations happened under Bush and Trump, not Obama or Biden. And Comey wasn’t even in government at the time.

It's hard not to see her departure as either punishment for being James Comey's daughter or the scapegoating of a vocal advocate for sexual abuse victims.

The investigation into the Obama-era spy chief involves allegations that he made false statements to Congress and is currently underway.
