North Carolina basketball got bounced before the second round of March Madness. Far different compared to the last two NCAA Tournament results under Hubert Davis. The Tar Heels head coach led a national final and regional semifinal charge in his last two tourney appearances.

Heading into their NCAA Tournament game against Ole Miss, the North Carolina Tar Heels knew they’d have their hands full. Even with that, however, head coach Hubert Davis saw his team struggle early in the game.

Last offseason, the Tar Heels needed to fill the void left by Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram, their two best rebounders. They tried to target big men in the portal and missed out on some top targets while landing Ven-Allen Lubin who developed into a good player by season's end.
