The European Union (EU) and Britain reached an agreement on the status of the overseas territory of Gibraltar on Wednesday which facilitates border crossings and ends years of political uncertainty.

The European Union reached a political agreement with the UK on the post-Brexit border arrangements for Gibraltar following talks on Wednesday. The accord, if ratified, will eliminate all physical barriers,

Talks on rules governing the border of Spain and Gibraltar have been ongoing since Britain left the European Union in 2020, but an agreement has not yet been reached. A Foreign Office source said that a deal was not yet finalised and that a number of sticking points remained.
