A Garland SWAT officer fatally shot an armed man Tuesday during a standoff at a Motel 6 after he pointed a gun at police. Moments later, officers discovered a second deceased body in the same room.

The suspect “confronted a SWAT team member with a firearm,” prompting the officer to open fire, according to police.
