It's been over a year since the New York Mets moved Francisco Lindor into the leadoff spot. Manager Carlos Mendoza made the move on May 18, 2024, and the 31-year-old shortstop has occupied the top of the batting order ever since.

After an 11-4 victory over the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park was secured, that home run meant the Mets have won the past 28 games in which Lindor has homered, just one shy of the all-time MLB record established by Carl Furillo from 1951-53. The equation might be as simple as this: When Lindor is playing well, the Mets win.

Francisco Lindor, who entered the contest on a 0-for-18 slump, took Mick Abel deep to cut the lead to one. Brandon Nimmo got in on the act a few pitches later. He golfed a low curveball to the seats in right field to tie the game at 3-3.
