OMAHA — Arizona was hoping to get some payback Sunday at the College World Series in its rematch against Louisville.

With two outs and Wells Sykes on second base after a two-out double, Arizona coach Chip Hale elected to intentionally walk Coastal catcher Caden Bodine in favor of facing Sebastian Alexander even though Bodine had stranded four runners in the second and fourth innings.

The College World Series marks the 18 th weekend of the 2025 season, and for the ninth time Arizona has started out with a loss, falling 7-4 to Coastal Carolina on Friday afternoon at Charles Schwab Field.

Six conferences and an independent will be represented at the College World Series. None were among the final eight in Omaha a year ago.
