Just hours before Canada's new Digital Services Tax was set to go into effect, the Canadian government announced that it rescinded the levy “in anticipation of a mutually beneficial comprehensive trade arrangement with the United States.

U.S. trade talks with Canada will be stopped "until such time as they drop certain taxes," President Donald Trump said in an interview broadcast on Sunday. Trump made the remarks in an interview on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo" program.
