Bangladesh lodged a protest with India's acting envoy over 'false and fabricated comments' by ex-prime minister Sheikh Hasina, calling it a hostile act. Her speech from India incited vandalism, including setting her father's house on fire.

Bangladesh foreign ministry said it has asked New Delhi to stop Hasina from making “false and fabricated comments”.

Bangladesh's new government is struggling to deal with a host of issues, including a stumbling economy and human rights violations, left behind by the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina six months ago.
