An 18-year-old Winter Haven man faces felony charges after police say he participated in an armed robbery in which his 17-year-old friend was killed.

Police received a call reporting a shooting at Abbey Lane Apartments off Evergreen Place in Winter Haven, WHPD spokeswoman Jaime Brown said. One individual is dead from a gunshot wound, Brown said. She said there is no danger to the public. No further information about the shooting was immediately available.
