A man was sentenced to life in prison Thursday in connection to a 2021 murder in Wakulla County at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, according to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office.

This manatee is one of 63 manatees to be killed by a watercraft so far this year, which is roughly 25% above the five-year average.
