Italian international Marco Verratti has signed for Qatari club Al Arabi, his new club and his former team, Paris Saint-Germain, announced on Wednesday.

Marco Verratti’s story fits the latter category. In 2017, the Italian midfielder was deep in negotiations to join FC Barcelona, a club that saw him as the natural heir to Xavi Hernández.

Former PSG players, Marco Verratti and Julian Draxler, are playing in Qatar, with no visibility in Europe. Yet, they play every week for their respective clubs. Same story for Benjamin Bourigeaud.

However, the real revolution would follow at the end of the 2022-23 season, with a string of players departing, headed by Neymar, Messi, Ramos and Verratti.
