In the must-see video above, several inches of snow fell in southern Vermont on Thursday, December 5, creating a peaceful scene in the town of Readsboro.

Though the statewide numbers were surprisingly good, Vermont’s ski areas had wildly different seasons, from a warm, wet start to a late season snow dump and an eclipse.

Vermont is home to some of the "most magical winter wonderland towns" in the country, according to a list compiled by the website Trips to Discover. In the list of 50, Vermont towns took three spots.
