Space Training and Readiness Command, or STARCOM, introduced new commander Maj. Gen. James Smith in a ceremony July 18 at Patrick Space Force Base.

STARCOM — an acronym for Space Training and Readiness Command — was activated as the Space Force's third field command in August 2021.
