General Motors is recalling nearly 62,500 Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks because their brake pressure sensor assembly could potentially leak and pose a fire risk.

Several thousand GM vehicles are being recalled due to a defect in the braking system which could cause fires–even when parked.

As for the reason why the suspect brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid, the supplier apparently used an unauthorized chemical in the production of the rubber diaphragm seal.
