CLEVELAND, Ohio — It took only three weeks for St. Ignatius to find its successor to Cam Joyce. The school announced Thursday afternoon that Tom Parker will be its next boys basketball coach.

The Society of Jesus, founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540, is a religious order known for its emphasis on education, spirituality and social justice.

Many students went to St. Ignatius Church in Mount Vernon on Tuesday night to pray and reflect on the legacy of Pope Francis, who died Monday at the age of 88.

Pope Francis, a Jesuit himself, met with a member of Loyola University and encouraged them to draw strength from their roots and to create hardworking dreamers.
