SIOUX CITY – Fans of the Sioux City Explorers turned out for the team's 30th home opener Tuesday night, with many hoping this won't be the team's last season in Sioux City.

In his 2015 campaign with the Bandits, Dowell passed for 2,148 yards and passed for 48 touchdowns to earn the Champions Indoor Football league most valuable offensive player award.

Dru Dorsey scored her 100th career goal and Assumption kept high-scoring Sioux City Heelan off the board to earn a spot in Saturday's Class 1A state championship game.
