NANTUCKET — Sporting a combat veteran hat and a MASS 50501 t-shirt, retired US Army Sgt. Bryan Winter took to the stage at Children’s Beach on July 22 at a protest that coincided with Vice President JD Vance’s visit to the island.

Chanting demonstrators carrying signs gathered along the road outside the fundraiser where Vance was scheduled to headline Tuesday.

Vice President JD Vance, on his way to a fundraiser organized by the Republican National Committee at a Nantucket home Tuesday, was met by protesters.
