The Lake County Board of Commissioners approved a sheriff’s department request to upfit a SWAT Unit van in a 2-1 vote Wednesday.

A man was shot Monday after threatening to kill himself and his wife and then turning the gun on a Polk County SWAT team, Sheriff Grady Judd said.
