Polk County residents are finding out Tuesday if they are in flood zones, or not. Commissioners are hosting open houses to present the new flood maps, which were last redrawn in 2000.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management has a Know Your Zone map where you can type in your address and find your nearest evacuation route. The agency also has individual maps for each county.

Right now, the county is bracing for tropical storm conditions, which could include strong winds and 3 to 6 inches of rain. The Peace River, Womble said, is high but not at flood stage.
