A handful of wooden fish camps, also known as 'stilt houses,' still stand tall in the Gulf of Mexico just a short boat ride away from the Pasco coast.

On Wednesday, two biological scientists from the University of Florida Institute of Food & Agriculture were trying to beat bad weather to study the aquatic preserve off the coast of Pasco County.

Photos posted on the Pasco County Sheriff's Office Facebook page Photos show the gator lassoed on the side of the road, near the end of a resident's driveway, in view of curious onlookers.
