The latest version of the Overwatch PTR recently received a new update in the form of Patch 1.13, and with it a couple of surprises seem to have been leaked regarding the Overwatch Summer Games 2017.

In a Reddit AMA this week, Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller confirmed that Blizzard's upcoming free-to-play multiplayer sequel will replace its predecessor upon its October 4 Early Access launch.

According to Blizzard commercial lead Jon Spector, Overwatch 1’s last day will be Sunday, October 2, although technically it might be October 3 depending on where in the world you are.

Overwatch 1 owners also immediately get Kiriko along with a few other items. Season two will also introduce a new character, but later seasons will alternate in adding maps and characters.
