Metro History Lesson: Bellevue Log Cabin This week on First News, we're taking you on a tour of historical sites around the metro.
BELLEVUE -- As a steady stream of cars flowed by, Yeizo Masunaga stood yesterday in the log cabin that was his childhood home and recalled simpler days.
The Nebraska Society of the Daughters of the American Colonists rededicated a historical marker on Sunday, June 11, commemorating Bellevue’s brief time as the capital.
The cabin’s front steps were redone, concrete stairs with half-log risers set between chubby river-rock posts. Railings are heavy chain (mirroring those holding up the living-room mantel).
