Leaders with the South Central Montana Regional Mental Health Center, a coalition of Eastern Montana counties providing mental health resources throughout the region, are frustrated.

The Montana Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed this week that it is investigating Austin Micu, a captain with the Powell County Sheriff’s Office.

Violation will result in a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine up to $500 and imprisonment up to 10 days. It will go into effect Aug. 15.

Samantha May Hance, 19, pleaded guilty in Yellowstone County District Court to one count of criminal child endangerment in connection to the death of her infant daughter June 22, 2023.
