Hot on the heels of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Nintendo has announced it will develop a live-action Legend of Zelda movie.

Nintendo is making a live-action Legend of Zelda, but the franchise would be best served as an isakai or shōnen anime given its incredibly rich lore.

“ The Legend of Zelda ” live action movie will move from March to May 7, 2027, Sony and Nintendo announced. The new date was freed up when “Avengers: Secret Wars” moved to Dec. 17, 2027. Originally set for March 26, 2027, “Zelda” series creator Shigeru Miyamoto said in a statement it would shift several weeks later “for production reasons.”
