Charlton are back in the second tier of English football after their play-off final win over Leyton Orient, joining likely big spenders Birmingham and Wrexham. Dropping into the Championship after getting relegated from the top flight are Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton, all of whom have ambitions of spending just a year in the league.

Wrexham will begin their first Championship campaign in over 40 years away at former Premier League side Southampton, before a tough run in their first five.

Wrexham prepare to rediscover the second tier for the first time in 43 years when they travel to St Mary’s to face Southampton on Saturday, August 9th.
