A new wildfire was reported today at 9:07 p.m. in Los Angeles County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. At this time, there is no data on the containment status of the fire and the cause has yet to be determined.

The Hughes Fire burned some 10,176 acres but that figure held steady throughout the day as 4,000 firefighters dropped water and retardant from the air and used hand tools and hoses on the ground.
