TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Tarrant County Commissioners approved a new electoral map, which will reshape the county’s governing body in favor of Republicans.

The Tarrant County Commissioners Court voted 3-2 along party lines to approve Map 7, finalizing new precinct boundaries after a two-month redistricting process.

Opponents say the maps are an example of racial gerrymandering.

Things turned heated during a Fort Bend County commissioners court meeting over a discussion of precinct maps on Tuesday.
