New to the festivities this year is the inaugural Kids Fun Run, where some prospective future triathletes aged 14 and under could test their endurance and speed in a prelude to the actual triathlon.
The registration fee to run in the 5K is $45 in advance at northcountyturkeytrot.org and $50 on race day. The fee for the Kids Fun Run is $25. Participants will receive a T-shirt, race bib and medal.
When the Kids Fun Run was finally called off, event coordinator Kim Bennett said she felt devastated. “We tried as hard as we could to keep it on as long as possible,” Bennett said.
