JCPenney is set to close its Alliance Supply Chain facility in Haslet, Texas around Nov. 1, affecting 296 employees.

The layoffs at the faltering department stores will come after another month of slight contraction in warehousing employment in May.

The latest JCPenney closures, which were first announced in February, come after more than 200 U.S. locations shuttered when the retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May 2020.
