The "magic" in Scotch Magic Tape is the fact that it appears frosted on the roll, but turns invisible when it's applied.
(In)Visible is an exhibit by visual artist Leslie Sasaki — who now lives in Port Blandford — made using Plexiglas, a boxcutter and Scotch brand magic tape.
His work eventually led to today’s Scotch Magic tape, and 3M has kept a tight seal on the recipe for its sandwich of polymers and carefully engineered chemicals ever since.
