Princess fatigue is real. Just ask any parent of a “Frozen”-obsessed kid — or, for that matter, any little girl who doesn’t favor pink, purple and tiaras.

In “Inside Out,” Pixar had to create a place where no one had ever been before: the mind of an 11-year-old girl. That meant researching how a real brain actually works.

It’s not the answer you might expect, but it’s a top Halloween costume choice after this summer's release of Inside Out 2, the follow-up to the 2015 Pixar hit in which feelings are personified.

"Inside Out 2" adds Maya Hawke's Anxiety to the emotional mix of a teen girl's inner thoughts and Pixar pulls off a rare feat: a really good sequel.

The look of “Inside Out” is sweepingly imaginative (though the 3-D is pointless. Skip it.). The acting, particularly from Amy Poehler as Joy and Phyllis Smith as Sadness, is powerful.
