Johnny Noviello, 49, who became a U.S. permanent resident in 1991, was found unresponsive while being detained in Miami pending removal proceedings, ICE said.

Canadian consular officials are pressing for more information from the US government after a Canadian citizen died while in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in a Florida detention center this week.

Johnny Noviello, 49, was found unresponsive on June 23 at the Bureau of Prisons Federal Detention Center in Miami, ICE said.
