The National Basketball Association (NBA) ordered the Dallas Mavericks last week to play the national anthem before their home games.

Debate over the national anthem played at sporting events is beginning again with Mark Cuban and the Mavericks not playing it at home games this season.

The NBA said it would enforce league policy so all teams would play the national anthem before games after the Mavericks had decided it would not.

The Dallas Mavericks will not play the national anthem prior to home games at the American Airlines Center this season.
