The Grand Canyon Lodge, which burned in the Dragon Bravo Fire over the weekend of July 12-13, was on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, the more remote and less visited part of the national park.

A devastating wildfire has destroyed the historic Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim, along with numerous other buildings. The 1928 landmark, previously rebuilt after a 1932 fire, was consumed by the blaze,

The visitor center and a wastewater treatment plant were among the 50 to 80 structures lost, the park superintendent said. The area was evacuated Thursday.
