The Delhi Municipal Corporation has made significant progress in containing the fire at the Ghazipur landfill site, successfully extinguishing 90 per cent of the blaze since Sunday, April 21.

The MCD has been grappling with the three overburdened landfills at Okhla, Ghazipur, and Bhalswa for a long time. Together, these landfills hold over 160 lakh tonnes of legacy waste.
