Polk County residents are finding out Tuesday if they are in flood zones, or not. Commissioners are hosting open houses to present the new flood maps, which were last redrawn in 2000.

MADISON (WKOW) — FEMA was in Sauk County Friday conducting damage assessments, completing evaluations in La Valle and Reedsburg. Now assessors are moving onto Rock Springs, North Freedom, and Baraboo.

FEMA unveiled the new map for Polk County this summer. It affects hundreds of properties in Polk County, especially Des Moines, Urbandale, Clive and Grimes.
