Coates International, Ltd. said today it has put all projects on hold for about 30 days while it retrofits the company's engine technology onto an 18-wheeler truck.

The loophole in federal law lets new, engineless truck bodies, or gliders, be outfitted with old, rebuilt diesel engines -- and avoid conforming to current emissions laws in effect for 18-wheelers.
